Crime Prevention Stall Cookie Island

Engagement Activity – Ilford Town Centre Team.

On 31st March 2026, officers from the Ilford Town Centre Team conducted a community engagement stall at Cookie Island, Ilford Exchange in Ilford. The purpose of this event was to engage with members of the public, particularly parents and carers, and provide key crime prevention advice.

The event was well attended, and officers had positive interactions with a large number of parents, carers, and local residents throughout the day. These conversations provided a valuable opportunity to build trust, increase visibility, and address local concerns in an informal and approachable setting.

Practical advice was shared with the public, including the importance of securing vehicles, removing valuables from sight, being vigilant when using cash machines or banks, and reporting suspicious behaviour promptly. Officers also provided reassurance and answered questions relating to local policing and safety.

The event proved to be highly successful in strengthening community relationships and promoting crime prevention messaging. Feedback from attendees was positive, with many expressing appreciation for the advice and visible police presence.
