Clapham Update

Residents and business owners in Clapham will notice an increased police presence throughout today. 

This is following the recent disorder and anti-social behaviour in the town centre. 

To clarify, this is nothing to be concerned about and is part of the enhanced policing measures we have in place.  

To help prevent further disruption and keep the community safe, I have authorised a Section 35 dispersal order for the Clapham area from 12:00pm on 4th April – 07:00am on 6th April in the area on the enclosed map.

This gives officers the power to direct anyone behaving in, or likely to engage in, anti social behaviour to leave the area. Increased patrols will continue throughout the duration of the order, in line with wider Met efforts to prevent further incidents and reassure businesses and the public. 

We are working closely with local partners and retailers and encourage anyone with any concerns to approach our officers today to discuss.
