Safer Neighbourhood Team – Action on Unsafe Cycling

Good Afternoon All,

Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team has recently been responding to a rise in complaints about unsafe cycling in the area. Residents have brought up cyclists running red lights, riding on pavements, and using bicycles that do not meet legal safety standards.

To keep everyone safe, officers have been carrying out targeted patrols and are issuing Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) to those found breaking the law and seizing bicycles that do not meet the legal requirement. Our aim isn’t to penalise responsible cyclists, but to ensure that all road users—especially pedestrians—can move around the community safely.

If you have ongoing concerns, please continue to report them. Working together, we can make our streets safer for everyone.
