Ward Update: Vehicle Crime – Priority Action and Arrest Made |
||
|
Dear Residents,
At the February Ward Panel Meeting, you told us that vehicle crime was an issue in Edgware. As a result of your feedback, vehicle crime was agreed as one of the ward priorities, and we are committed to delivering on the concerns raised by our community.
On Monday 30th March 2026, officers on patrol on Station Road observed a moped that aroused their suspicion. Following further checks, it was confirmed that the moped had been reported stolen ten days earlier from Ilford Lane, East London.
The rider was arrested on suspicion of Theft of a Motor Vehicle by PC Ayers‑Harris, one of Edgware’s dedicated ward officers. The stolen moped was successfully recovered.
This outcome demonstrates how your concerns directly inform our policing activity and highlights the proactive work being carried out by your local ward team to tackle vehicle crime.
Officers will continue to conduct high‑visibility patrols, proactive vehicle checks, and targeted enforcement as part of this ward priority. We encourage residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious behaviour, and take appropriate steps to secure their vehicles.
Thank you for your continued engagement and support in helping to keep Edgware safe. Kind regards, | ||
