I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Steps to Report Drug Dealing
1. Contact the Police: Emergency Situations: If you witness drug dealing in progress or if someone is in immediate danger, call 999 to report it immediately Non-Emergency Reporting: For non-urgent situations, you can call 101 or report online https://www.met.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/how-to-report-a-crime Alternatively you can come to your local police station to report this
2. Provide Detailed Information: When reporting, try to include as much information as possible, such as: - times of day it is occurring - location - any vehicle number plates involved - description of the people involved - what behaviour they are displaying e.g., exchanging money - any cctv footage that may coincidentally captures dealing of drugs Please note: Do not put yourself in danger. It is important to not approach anyone you suspect is involved in drug dealing. Instead, you should document the above requested information. Please, do not attempt to gather evidence by taking photos or recording conversations, as these actions could lead to dangerous situations. Always prioritise your safety and the safety of others in your community.
3. Anonymous reporting If you prefer to remain anonymous, you can report drug dealing through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting their website. They do not ask for your personal information and will ensure your identity remains confidential. https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/give-information-anonymously
