What have the team been up to this week:
On the 24th of March the team brought in two offenders, the first was for three shop thefts across Kingshurst and Smiths Wood. He was charged and remanded for court the following day. The second was a male who had been served a red notice after committing a robbery in Romania then fleeing. On his return to the country, he can expect to serve a ten-year prison sentence.
On the 27th of March the team responded to a call about a male who had just sexually assaulted a 13- and 15-year-old girl. We located him while our response colleagues spent time with the victims to obtain their account and ensure they are safeguarded and supported. They took the suspect to custody and on the way, he was further arrested for assaulting two officers on the team and for criminal damage in his cell. He mains in custody for interview by specialist investigation officers.
On the 28th of March the team arrested a male in Castle Bromwich after he was recalled to prison on the 27th of March. This was for committing further offences and showing poor behaviour. They lodged him at Coventry custody block where he can wait the bus back to prison.
On the 29th of March the team found not one but two high risk missing people. The first was a 4-year-old girl who we located very soon after the call came in from her mom. The second was a suicidal female who ran from her address. Both are well and have been suitably safeguarded.
On the 30th of March and thanks to community intelligence the team recovered a motorbike that was abandoned in fields off Parkfield Drive in Castle Bromwich. It had been stolen in 2024 from Foleshill in Coventry.
The above is on top of our day-to-day duties as neighbourhood officers and patrols across Castle Bromwich, Smiths Wood and Kingshurst area.
