Dear Resident, Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a dog was dangerously out of control in Hitchin. At around 9.45am on Thursday 26 March, a woman was running along Old Hale Way when she was bitten by a Labrador dog, causing two puncture wounds to her thigh. The dog’s owner spoke in an American accent, and enquiries are ongoing to trace her. Investigating officer PC Martin Barringer said: “Our investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to please report to police. “If you have any details, I can be emailed directly via Martin.Barringer@herts.police.uk.” You can also report information online, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting 41/28154/26. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form.
