Dear Resident, Please see below for what your local beat officers have been doing to resolve and tackle the issues that have been raised in the local area of Rochester West & Borstal Ward; Fly-tipping - We have since conducted a joint visit with the Environmental Enforcement Agency (EEA) whereby we attended locations surrounding ROCHESTER HIGH STREET where there have been episodes of fly tipping. Details have been taken of locations and business, and investigations are currently being undertaking my by the EEA. Additional rubbish collections have been arranged through Medway Norse. Fly tipping hotspot are being identified. A targeted day also happened around the hotspots where vehicle are stopped, searched and appropriately advised around legislation, they were also dealt with for other matters. E-scooters & Road Safety - Your local Beat Officers have also issued, 6 traffic offence reports to drivers for things such as no insurance, no seat belt and turning left or right on the high street where there are restrictions. 3 Section 59 notices for anti-social driving have been issued. 2 Public Space Protection Orders have been issued to 2 drivers which result in a £70 fine for anti-social driving. At least 5 E-scooters have been removed from the streets of Rochester as well. Rough sleepers/Homelessness - Rough Sleepers Initiative (RSI) have been doing fantastic work and ensuring that those that need accommodation have suitable accommodation for their needs. They work tirelessly to make sure those that are homeless have somewhere to go out of the weather. RSI work very closely with the Police and we work together to identify new persons that need accommodation and work with other partners to ensure they get the help and support that they need. Drug dealing – 15 Stop and Searches of a person, in Rochester, in relation to drugs have occurred from your local beat officers whereby positive outcomes have been applied such as Community Resolutions and Charges. ASB - 1 new Community Protection warning has been issued and those people who have have already been issued CPWs, these persons are being monitored and supported. We have been addressing areas of community concerns on a case by case basis. We have done home visits on repeat callers as well as conducting meetings with representative of the community.
