Community Update – Clapham

We are aware of information circulating on social media about possible gatherings of large groups of young people across the Clapham area, which may lead to anti‑social behaviour.

To ensure the safety of our community, I have authorised a Section 35 Dispersal Order across the area. This provides officers with additional powers to direct individuals to leave the locality if they are involved in, or are likely to be involved in, anti‑social behaviour. For those under 16, officers will have the ability to take them home to their place of residence for their safety.

We have put appropriate policing plans in place. You will see increased patrols by your local neighbourhood officers, supported by additional resources redeployed from elsewhere. Our priority is to prevent disorder and keep Clapham a safe place for everyone who lives, works, and visits here.

We continue to monitor the situation and will take action where necessary. If you witness anti‑social behaviour or have any concerns, please contact us on 101, or 999 in an emergency. You can also report information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
