Neighbourhood Officers from A Relief and C Relief, based at Town Hall Station, conducted a planned traffic operation on Deansgate today. This activity formed part of our continued efforts to improve road safety, address community concerns, and ensure compliance with driving legislation.
Throughout the operation, officers stopped a number of vehicles and undertook a range of enforcement actions, including:
Driving Offences • Nine drivers reported for using a mobile phone while driving • Two drivers reported for failing to wear a seatbelt • Seven vehicles stopped for illegal window tints, with a combination of enforcement and advice provided • Two vehicles identified with ghost plates.
Vehicle Seizures • Three vehicles seized under Section 165, including: – One vehicle with no insurance – Two foreign‑registered vehicles where the drivers did not hold a valid licence
Additional Checks • One drug‑wipe test conducted – negative • One breath test conducted – negative
Officers engaged with drivers and members of the public throughout the day, offering advice and reinforcing the importance of safe and responsible driving. These operations are part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the area safe and responding to issues raised by the community.
