… is this Saturday 4th April 2026. The Thames path through our ward will be full of visitors. Unfortunately, these roads are our hotspot for theft from motor vehicle crimes. I want to remind you all to advise your visitors not to leave ANYTHING in their vehicles. Treat the vehicle as a convertible - you would not leave anything in it that someone could reach in & take. Don't even leave empty bags inside because a thief will want to find out what's in the bag! Don't leave a device with Bluetooth inside because I believe thieves walk along the roads seeing if their own devices pair with anything hidden in a boot or glovebox. Leave your glovebox & parcel shelves open so that thieves see there is nothing to take. There will be police on duty, but officers will be primarily concerned with crowd control. |
