Off-road bikes

Good Afternoon all, 

I hope you're well. 

I wanted to address the current issue which many residents are facing with off-road bikes. We are receiving an increased amount of reports in relation to these and I want to provide residents with reassurance about what the Police are doing to target this. 

Whilst the Neighbourhood Team are on late shifts we will ensure that there is high visibility at the key hotpots which residents are reporting to us, this is in an attempt to deter these individuals but also to allow us to use our powers to stop, conduct searches and seize any illegal vehicles. 

There is also an off-road bike initiative running in Rochdale called Operation Dragster, we have made the Sergeant who runs this aware of the areas within the Pennines where we are having issues with off-road bikes so that they can be incorporated when we next run a day of action. 

Please note we are also running a Cuppa with a Copper in Wardle, Smithybridge, Littleborough and Milnrow Libraries on the following dates/times. This is an opportunity for residents to attend and have a chat with local Neighbourhood Officers to report any issues or concerns- 

5th May @ 10.00hrs- Milnrow Library 

7th May @ 14.00hrs- Wardle Library 

8th May @ 09.00hrs- Littleborough Library 

16th May @10.00hrs- Smithybridge Library
