Consett Neighbourhood Policing Update

School Visit – St Joseph’s, Leadgate

PCSOs Dixon and Rutherford recently attended St Joseph’s Primary School in Leadgate to speak to the pupils about the role of the police. The children had the opportunity to learn what officers do day-to-day, as well as see some of the equipment and vehicles used by the team

Operation Hawkeye Activity

PCSOs McKenna, Burnip, Connah and Walker carried out another successful Operation Hawkeye alongside Tia, our Community Safety Officer, and our Police Cadets.

During this operation:

- A new location was covered

- 24 vehicles were found insecure

- Owners and nearby residents were given crime prevention advice

We’d like to remind everyone of the importance of keeping vehicles locked and removing valuables.

Anti-Social Driving Action Taken

Following reports of vehicles driving in an anti social manner in the Consett Town Centre area, PCSOs McKenna and Burnip identified one of the vehicles involved.

A Traffic 183 warning was issued to the driver. This warning remains in place for 12 months, and if the vehicle is involved in further incidents, it may be seized.

Anti-Social Behaviour – Consett Town Centre

We have received multiple reports of youths causing anti-social behaviour in Consett Town Centre over the past week.

Although many individuals attempted to conceal their identity, our CCTV operators were able to obtain clear facial identifications. Enquiries are ongoing in relation to these incidents.
