Local Priorities Fly tipping Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Fly tipping, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

It has been brought to my attention that another shell of a Caravan has been located having been dumped in Cowstead Lane.
I have reported this to Swale Borough Council (FS-Case-819517587) and colleagues within the Rural Task Force have attended to see whether any identification can be made through the Central Registration and Identification Scheme (CRiS).
I will also be in touch with the Local Authority to see how we can get access to the camera footage in the marked area to assist with any possible investigation.

If You Witness Fly-Tipping in Progress

• Call 999 immediately – this is considered a criminal offence in action.

To Report Fly-Tipping After It Has Happened

You should report fly-tipping to your local district or borough council. Each council is responsible for clearing waste from public land in its area. Kent County Council Guidance: Report fly-tipping – Kent.gov.uk [kent.gov.uk]

Information You’ll Need to Provide

• Exact location of the waste (include landmarks if possible)
• Type of waste dumped
• Date you noticed it
• Your name and postcode
• Email address
• Photographs (optional but helpful) What Happens 
• If the fly-tipping is on public land, the council will aim to clear it within 10 working days.
• If it’s on private land, it’s the landowner’s responsibility to remove it. You can still report it, and the council may investigate if evidence is found.

If it’s out of hours and poses a risk to safety, call Highways Emergencies on 03000 41 91 91.
