Westfield Shopping Centre - Good News

On Friday the 20th March the Westfield Policing Team met with retailers, in coordination with the Safer Business Network and Westfield Security, and we publicised the current results of Operation Borgio, the effort by local neighbourhood police officers to tackle persistent shoplifters.

Since the beginning of December 2025 to the end of February 2026, 13 offenders have been charged, collectively, with 130 shoplifting offences with prison sentences being handed out by the courts, which has added up to three years worth of sentences. Five Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBO's) have being issued along with a Community Order.

On Friday the 27th March, the Westfield Policing Team noticed an individual acting suspiciously and when stopped it was discovered that he was wanted for two commercial burglaries and two shoplifting offences, he has been charged and remanded in custody.
