Weeding Out Crime: Strong Shifts in Piccadilly Gardens |
||
|
The Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team has been maintaining a strong and proactive presence over the past few days, delivering tangible results in tackling crime and safeguarding the public.
On Friday, officers wasted no time in taking decisive action. PC Cross arrested an adult male who was found in breach of his court-imposed bail conditions, having been located within 50 metres of a shop he had been explicitly prohibited from entering. Later that day, vigilant CCTV monitoring identified two males suspected of drug dealing in the area. Sergeant Wyatt and PC Duffy responded swiftly, locating and arresting both individuals on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
Saturday proved equally busy for the team. PC Simm arrested an adult male on suspicion of assaulting his female partner, demonstrating the team’s continued commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals. Meanwhile, PC McKenzie dealt with multiple incidents, first arresting an adult female found in possession of a Class A drug and in breach of a court order. He later went on to arrest an adult male on suspicion of a public order offence, highlighting the varied and often fast-paced nature of neighbourhood policing. PC Zamecnik also arrested an adult male after breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and failing to comply with Sex Offender Registration requirements, having been found using applications on his phone that he was prohibited from accessing.
The momentum has continued into today, with PC Duffy arresting a further adult male on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug.
Speaking about the team’s recent activity, Sergeant Jon Wyatt said: “I’m incredibly proud of the team’s exuberant efforts over the past few days. Their proactive approach, professionalism and commitment to keeping Piccadilly Gardens safe has led to a number of positive results, and we will continue to target those involved in criminality while supporting the wider community.”
The Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team remains committed to tackling crime head-on and ensuring the city centre continues to be a safe and welcoming environment for all.
