Birstall & Wanlip - March Newsletter |

|
Welcome to the monthly update for the residents and communities of the Birstall & Wanlip Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA). This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.
Residential Burglaries
Officers have carried out targeted patrols in key hotspot areas and engaged with local residents to raise awareness. Crime‑prevention advice has been shared throughout the community. As a result of this work, we have recorded only one residential burglary in the past month.
Youth‑Related ASB
Evening patrols have been increased to provide reassurance and reduce offending. Officers are taking proportionate, incremental action against those responsible and continue to identify individuals causing issues. We are working closely with partner agencies to address behaviour and explore appropriate diversionary opportunities.
Vehicle‑Related ASB
Officers have used enforcement powers under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act and continue to monitor known hotspot locations. Warning signs have been placed in affected areas to deter antisocial behaviour. We are currently working with the local council and businesses on long‑term solutions, including joint initiatives and environmental improvements. Additional officers have recently been trained to use mobile speed cameras, with speeding operations planned for later this year. An e‑scooter has also been seized, and we will continue to share updates on our enforcement activity online.
