Hello All
✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅ This week on St Matthews, Team 1 officers executed a drugs warrant in Caldmore. X 3 individual persons were arrested for various illegal activity including possession of drugs and also shop theft. We have also attended an International Woman’s Day event organised by Ahmadiyya Muslim Woman’s Association. They shared work they do and how building connections with the community is important. Highlighting the importance of creating communities where women and girls can feel safe. Our PCSO’s and St Matthew’s DNO attended Blue Coat primary School where they spoke with the children and staff. They spoke about what the police do in the community to help them and other young people feel safe and what the different jobs that the police do. Keeping on the topic of community engagement we have carried out several speedwatches resulting in 10 plus warning letters being handed out. PCSO’s patrolled around Chuckery and Highgate and visited two warden managed apartment building, who where holding a residents meetings. The groups of residents shared issues of concern about their neighbourhood/community, and received advice and support from the team to help with the issues that were raised, which was well received.
📅 Upcoming Police & Community Engagements 📅 Our neighbourhood team intend to keep up the engagements whether that is via speedwatches, residents meetings or pop-up surgeries. There will be more planned for the upcoming weeks. We also intend to remain pro-active in and around the town centre to ensure that police presence is high. Speedwatches that will be planned will be in the areas of Highgate and around Mellish Rd as they are the areas where speeding concerns are raised. We are also looking to experiment with different roads to assess the sort of pattern we get in regards to speeding.
