📢 Quarterly Update – Our Priorities Remain the Same Following our recent review, our local policing priorities remain unchanged. Here’s what we’ve been doing across Oakham to tackle the issues that matter most to you:
🔵 Anti‑Social Behaviour (ASB)We’ve continued our targeted patrols in ASB hotspot areas, maintaining visibility and offering reassurance to local residents. Over the last month, officers have been on foot across Oakham Town Centre, Cutts Close Park, Colleridge Way, Derwent Drive, Welland Way Park and The Sidings, working closely with the Safer Streets Team and Rutland County Council. We’ve also been engaging with local schools, providing early support, and we’ve maintained dedicated patrols in Oakham’s shopping areas to help reduce ASB and support businesses.
🟢 DrugsDrug‑related concerns remain a priority. Officers have stopped suspected drug dealers, seized vehicles linked to drug activity, and carried out focused patrols in key locations. We are continuing to work with our partners, including local housing providers, to keep communities safe, and we currently have several ongoing investigations connected to drug supply in the town.
🔴 Road SafetyRoad safety priorities also remain the same. We’ve conducted a number of intelligence‑led vehicle stops, taking action where required. This included issuing Section 59 warnings, which are used when a vehicle is driven carelessly, inconsiderately, off‑road where prohibited, or in a way that causes alarm or distress to the public. We continue to monitor speeding and nuisance‑driving locations, using both independent patrols and joint operations with our Roads Policing colleagues.
