Local Police Update – Woodthorpe, Westfield & Surrounding Areas Here’s a summary of recent police activity in the area: • Attempted Moped Theft – Woodthorpe (20 March) A PCSO on cycle patrol located several young males pushing a moped through woodland in Woodthorpe. Officers carried out a coordinated search, and the vehicle was recovered before the owner realised it had been stolen. The moped was taken from Arundale between 13:30–14:00. If you saw anything, please call 101 quoting incident 12260049995. • Arrest – Askham Lane (21 March) A 54‑year‑old male wanted for failing to appear at court was located by PCSOs and arrested. He will appear before the next available court. • Arrest – Middleton road (22 March) Another 54‑year‑old male was arrested by NPT officers after being located by PCSOs. He has been charged and bailed in relation to three shop thefts and a Section 4 Public Order offence. • Disorder Incident – Green Lane (23 March) A 17‑year‑old male was arrested for breach of court bail and remanded to appear in court the following day. • Arrest Linked to Disorder – Green Lane (24 March) A 36‑year‑old female was arrested on suspicion of improper use of a communications network.
