Reigate and Banstead Police Safer Neighbourhood Team
Dear Residents, Welcome to the Police Update for the last week. The message includes personal fraud (Scams), burglaries, catalytic converter and vehicle thefts reported between the 19th March 2026 to 26th March 2026. The report also includes information on arrests in the Borough.
Car Crime
This week there have been 10 reports of theft from cars and 4 reports of attempted car break-ins. Of the 14 reports of actual thefts from cars and attempted car break-ins, received this week, 12 were from the Central Area of the Borough and in particular the Merstham area. Arrests. There were 49 arrests in the period March 19th 2026 to March 25th 2026: Domestic Incident/Violent Domestic Abuse 11, Rape/Sexual Offence 4, Drugs 1, Violent Crime in a Public Place 4, Violent Crime Other 4, Crime Public Order 2, Harassment/Stalking 2, Master Occurrence 5*, Child Protection 1, Child at Risk 2, Robbery 1, Theft 4, Criminal Damage 1, Burglary Business and Community 3, Knife/Blade possession 2, Fraud 1, Crime Other 1. *A Master Occurrence is used when recording an arrest where a number of offences are recorded for one incident.
Personal Fraud (Scams) in the Borough. Records show that there have been Six reports of Personal Fraud in the Borough during the last week. The reports included an Impersonation Scam, Romance Fraud, Financial Abuse and a Telephone Fraud claiming to be from an electrical repair company.
Burglaries North No reports this week.
