Attempted theft of motor vehicle - Can you help? |
Between midnight on Tuesday 24th May and 0630hrs on Wednesday 25th May there was an attempted theft of an Alfa Romeo Stelvio from Swakeleys Drive, Ickenham UB10 8QG (odd-numbered side between The Grove and Halford Road). Suspects unknown attempted to start the engine by removing the panel and junction box located at the front of the grille.
Action required please: The main way in which residents in the vicinity of Swakeleys Drive can assist in this case please is to check your CCTV and video doorbells during the above period for any triggers that might reveal footfall or a vehicle that might be associated with the suspects. Identifying the exact time of this incident is key to establishing the overall timeline that make further CCTV searches easier. If you live on another part of the Ward, perhaps the same suspects were active elsewhere looking at other vehicles? Very often a report on another part of the Ward can give a strong indication of the same team in action, and hence a good starting point for a timeline for officers to investigate. Who to contact: Any and all information please in the first instance to Ickenham Neighbourhood Watch at ickenhamnhw@gmail.com who will closely with local officers on this case.
Crime prevention: The primary crime prevention measure for all vehicle theft is to fit a sturdy steering wheel lock. The cost is usually a fraction of the value of the vehicle that it is trying to protect, and criminals definitely do not like being delayed. | ||
