And welcome to you weekly update on street crime across the ward of Beckton. It’s not been a terrible week, no burglaries and no snatches have been reported. If you have a couple of minutes spare, I’ll fill you in on the what, wheres and whens of street crime in Beckton.

They did manage to break the lock but were scared off by the owner before being able to take full possession of the bike. 20/03/2026 – A white Mercedes was stolen from the Premier Inn car park. The vehicle was tracked to a Travel Lodge where it was recovered. The thieves were not around. 21/03/2026 – A man was seen walking with a motorbike along Woolwich Manor Way. Robbery 19/03/2026 – Knife point robbery of a 13 yr old on a 474 bus. Two Suspects were at the top rear of the bus, dressed in black and were wearing balaclavas. They are believed to be around 16 years old.

Theft from Vehicle 20/03/2026 – This one occurred in Renfrew Close. Plastic covers stolen from Wing Mirrors. 24/03/2026 – Tools stolen from a work van on Alpine Way.
Theft From a Person 24/03/2026 – A purse was stolen from a backpack that the unsuspecting victim was carrying in Sainsbury’s
Theft 26/04/2026 - 2 Bikes were stolen from a shed in Strait Road
The burglar we arrested not so long ago was released by the courts whilst awaiting his trial date. He failed to show up for that trial. But whilst we were actively hunting for him, a resident put a call in to the police stating a suspicious man was living in a van behind their house. The description matched our wanted burglar. We ran straight there, and it was indeed our man. Hopefully we’ll not be seeing him for quite some time.
More and more robberies have been occurring on the top deck of busses of late. Please advise you children to sit downstairs, close to others and near the driver if possible.
Until Next Week Be Good, Have Fun & Stay Safe
