Dear Residents, PC CANN here, one of the Designated Neighbourhood Officer for Hillfields, Coventry and this is a quick round up from me and the rest of the Hillfields Neighbourhood Policing Team. What`s been happening: We have conducted high visible patrols around your neighbourhood, aiming at the hotspots for anti-social behaviour. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Your local neighbourhood team have been out and about engaging in the community and conducting regular meetings with partners. Your neighbourhood team have been conducting reassurance visits to local shops, businesses and to your local student accommodations around vehicle crime following a spate of Theft from Motor Vehicles and Car Break ins within Gosford Street Car Park and Lower Ford Street, Coventry. Preventing car and vehicle theft | Crime Prevention | West Midlands Police Your neighbourhood team held a PACT meeting on Wednesday 25th March at 19:00hrs at Thomas King House, Wellington Street, Coventry. We saw many of you there and this gave our team a great opportunity to discuss the community issues you are all facing. Our next PACT meeting is on: We have conducted several Cuppa With Coppa events at various locations across Hillfields, Coventry, these were at The Hope Centre, Vauxhall Street; The Gateway, Adelaide Street; The Cycle Works Student Accommodation, Lower Ford Street and the Ravidass Temple, Jesmond Road. This was another great way for us to meet you all and discuss issues. Members of the public are welcome in the Hope Centre for free tea and coffee for their Coffee and Chat sessions every Wednesday and Fridays from 11:00-14:00hrs. We have been conducting visits to multiple vulnerable members of the community to offer safeguarding advice and support. We have conducted continued problem solving with local partners following ongoing issues at an address in Coronation Road, Coventry. ARRESTS: This week your local officers made some great arrests. Altogether there were 6 arrests made regarding known offenders causing issues within the local neighbourhood this week. These arrests were ranging from Theft from Stores, Possession with Intent to Supply - Drugs, Breach of Community Protection Notices (CPNs) and Warrants for Failing to Appear. OTHER HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK: Your local officers have been out conducting stop and searches in the area and meetings at the Harmony Family Hub, Clifton Street, Coventry. Your local officers have been out on patrol along Harnall Lane East, Wellington Street and The Chantries, Coventry following your concerns raised in relation to vehicles being driven with No Tax, No Insurance and No MOTs. From this, several vehicles have been seized. GREAT NEWS: Your local neighbourhood team are continuing the process of setting up a Street watch in Hillfields.
