Nissan Navara owners beware – theft on the increase.

We have seen an increase in the theft of the Nissan Navara with the most recent occurring in car parks in Castleford (Colorado Way and Carlton Lane car park) and want to highlight this trend to owners in our district. The vehicles were stolen without the keys.

How can you protect your vehicle?

Install a “Ghost” style immobiliser

“Ghost” style immobilisers – these are covertly fitted and work by preventing the engine to start unless certain buttons within the vehicle are pressed in a specific sequence and have benefits including:

No radio frequencies so cannot be compromised by thieves by using RF scanning or code grabbing technology

Undetectable by using diagnostics – no circuit cuts so the immobiliser cant be detected on the vehicle.

No key cloning – PIN can be set up so this has to be inputted before starting the engine even if cloned keys are used.

Use a Disklok steering wheel lock

A full face steering wheel lock that provides strong visual deterrence. It is Sold Secure certified (premier security testing process) and is recognised as a Secured By Design product (Police preferred specification)

Double lock your vehicle

Press the keyfob twice when locking your vehicle.
