Weekly Update from your local Bablake NPT
Dear Members
Here’s your weekly update from myself and the rest of the team.
What’s Been Happening
Event Officers from the team attended a Community Safety Event for students. This was an opportunity for students to meet us, ask questions concerning various safety topics and to learn about recognising risk and how to access help if needed. Personal safety items such as personal attack alarms were handed out and proved to be quite a hit especially when demonstrating them! We also had the pleasure of attending a Scouts group for the reopening of their centre following refurbishment.
Patrols We have been carrying out school parking patrols; a few parents were given strong words of advice concerning their manner of parking. Just to note, we do not attach a Fixed Penalty Notice to a vehicle’s windscreen, the fine comes through the post. Quite a few parents and residents came over to chat and appreciated our presence. we shall of course continue with school patrols across the wards.
As well as team patrols, on Monday the Roads Policing Unit was out and about in Bablake, not just on the main roads but around the lanes too, concentrating on enforcing traffic laws and tackling dangerous driving.
Crime figures Over the past nine days on the Bablake ward, there has been four reports of vehicle crime being vehicle interference on SANDSTONE AVENUE, attempt theft from motor vehicle on BLACKSMITHS DRIVE, attempt theft of motor vehicle BROWNS LANE and theft of motor vehicle on ROGER BLYTHEBROOK AVENUE. There have been three attempted residential burglaries on HAWKESMILL LANE, BURTON AVENUE and FIVEFIELD ROAD and a residential burglary on LONG CLOSE AVENUE.
Until next week Stay safe everyone.
