Last week we were alerted to males, asking to do some garden work in the BISHOPSTON AREA.

However we know that these males will appear in many areas throughout the Gower Sector, once active.

The males target properties that show sign of elderly residents,  such as a key safe, support railings or gardens that are unattended, and offer their services, displaying a fake flyer with promising reviews , with a contact number that does not connect.

The males appear legitimate, however they are not.

We strongly advise that you do not accept any jobs offered at your doorstep, no matter how good the deal may be.

Always employ a firm you can trust.  Just say NO.

In this case, the males have helped an elderly lady cut back a hedge, when she could only pay by cheque, they have taken her in their van to the Post Office to withdraw money.   The males have then returned the following day requesting more money.  Thankfully, neighbours have intervened and the makes left.

Please be vigilant of vans pulling up in your area and door to door sales.  Do not hand over any money, or accept any jobs offered.

Please keep a close eye on elderly residents.
