Day of Action

On the 24th of March Safer Neighbourhood Teams from Barking and Dagenham wards, along with traffic and search teams, carried out a successful  day of action into targeting offenders on our roads and depriving criminals of there resources. This included targeted searches and traffic operations.
During this teams arrested 1 adult for theft of motor vehicle and 1 person for possession of drugs with intent to supply. 
The operation was led by PS Everett, Numerous vehicles were stopped and 15 persons reported for varying traffic offences traffic safety operation on Bastable Avenue, Thames Road and at Parsloes Park. 

Sgt Everett stated “Our Ward Panel members, residents and local community groups have been asking police and the local authority for more action on the roads that surround our schools.”

Over the last four weeks Barking Riverside & Thames View wards with help from our Transport colleagues have been operating a staged approach culminating in the enforcement operation today.  Hopefully, this goes some way to promoting road safety within our communities . We will be continuing the theme throughout the year and beyond to support public safety, particularly around our schools.”
