I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Dear Residents,
We are pleased to share a positive and successful day of proactive policing within our ward. At a recent ward panel meeting you told us you were worried about the Anti-social behaviour and drug dealing taking place in Rowan Recreational Ground. We stepped up patrols and we managed to make several arrests. We listened to your concerns, and we acted on them.
At the most recent ward panel meeting you told us that we were having a positive effect, but the group remained. It did not have the full effect we had hoped for.
In the early hours of this morning, we successfully executed four warrants within our ward, as part of our ongoing efforts to address your concerns. These warrants were executed in partnership with officers from the MO7 Taskforce TSG and dog units.
We are pleased to report that a quantity of Class B drugs were recovered at one of the addresses. In addition, a taser knuckle duster was located at a separate address, and arrests have been made.
Furthermore, those we believe are causing significant anti-social behaviour have now been issued with Community Protection Notices prohibiting them from entering the park.
These results reflect the continued commitment of our officers, who are working persistently to tackle crime and improve safety within the area. We remain focused on identifying those responsible and bringing offenders to justice.
We would also encourage residents to continue reporting any concerns or information to us, no matter how insignificant it may seem. The best way to do this is via 101 or the online reporting system.
Whilst we understand that it may sometimes appear that progress takes time, please be assured that we are consistently working behind the scenes to address the issues reported to us. Our efforts remain ongoing, and we are committed to delivering results for our community.
Our team would like to thank you once again for your trust in us and your continued support.
We are committed to tackling drug dealing wherever we find it. We will keep you updated on our efforts to do this in your area, but if you have any concerns or evidence, it is important you report this as soon as possible. If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.met.police.uk/, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org. We are working on our brand-new strategy for how we police London and we want your help.
