Operation Concept is a long-running, targeted initiative by Greater Manchester Police in partnership with the UK Border Force and Royal Mail, designed to intercept and disrupt the importation of illegal weapons, drugs, and contraband through postal systems.

Yesterday following an Operation Concept seizure, officers from the Stockport Central Neighbourhood Team executed a misuse of drugs warrant at an address on the Mottram Farm estate, Middle Hillgate, Stockport.

This resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old male on suspicion of the unlawful importation of cannabis into the United Kingdom, Possession of cannabis with the intention to supply, Possession of over £2000 in counterfeit currency, and possession of an offensive weapon.

Police Inspector Jason Holmwood who has tactical overview of the Stockport central policing area stated “ Yesterday’s  successful drugs warrant and the arrest of a male at the address is the result of focused, intelligence led policing and the continued support of our local community. We know the impact that drug supply has on neighbourhoods — from increased anti social behaviour to the exploitation of vulnerable people — and we are committed to tackling these issues head on.

Information from the public plays a vital role in helping us identify those involved in criminal activity, and yesterday’s action shows what can be achieved when we work together. We will continue to target individuals who choose to bring harm to our communities, and we remain determined to make our streets safer for everyone.”
