🚨 TARMAC SCAMS 🚨
We’re seeing reports of people going door-to-door offering to lay tarmac or carry out work at a “cheap price” because they “happen to be in the area" or "have left over tarmac from a previous job in the area".
In many cases this leads to: ⚠️ Prices suddenly increasing by thousands of pounds ⚠️ Property or valuables being taken ⚠️ Intimidation or threats ⚠️ Poor or unfinished work
If it sounds too good to be true — it usually is.
Before agreeing to any work: ✅ Check ID and company details ✅ Get written quotes ✅ Don’t be pressured into quick decisions ✅ Never hand over cash upfront
If you’re approached and feel something isn’t right: 🚗 If safe to do so, note vehicle registrations and descriptions 📞 Report on 101, or 999 if you feel threatened or in immediate danger 💻 Or report online via ➡️ https://orlo.uk/report_a_crime_lvTM6
🏠 Landowners, farmers, businesses and homeowners — please stay alert👀
