Dear Resident,
During the weekend of Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd March, three burglaries occurred in the South Oxhey/Oxhey Hall area. These were in Piltdown Road, Prestwick Road (near the junction with Piltdown Road) and Highlands.
If you have any information relating to these crimes, or CCTV/video doorbell footage that could assist with our enquiries, you can click the reply button at the bottom of the email, or by contacting the police on the non-emergency number 101.
Alternatively, you can give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Please be assured that following these recent burglaries, Three Rivers police will be stepping up regular patrols in South Oxhey and Oxhey Hall. If you see anything that looks suspicious or unusual, please contact police on either the emergency number 999 or on the non-emergency number 101.
Tips to prevent burglary:
Check downstairs windows and doors are securely locked before you leave or go to bed. Secure UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it to engage the security features. Don’t leave keys, phones or other valuables on windowsills or in any other visible place. Securely lock rear gates, sheds and garages. Keep tools and ladders locked away, as they could be used to break into your home. Use laminate glass where possible for any rear doors or windows. If this is not practicable, consider the use of security film over existing windows. Use a “Fake TV” or timer switches on lamps to give the impression someone is at home. Consider using a doorbell camera, interior camera, or a monitored burglar alarm. Consider adding trellis to any side or rear boundaries to add extra height up to a maximum of 2 metres.
Please be vigilant and do report any suspicious activity or behaviour in the area. If you need to report a crime please call 101 or go online here.
