Coarse fishing close season

The close season for coarse fishing came into effect on 15th March and runs until 15th June inclusive.
The coarse fish close season applies to rivers, streams and drains.
We work closely with the Environment Agency and The Angling Trust to enforce Operation Clampdown the crackdown on illegal fishing and poaching.
The Environment Agency advises that if you suspect illegal fishing you should report it to the Environment Agency’s incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60.
