Parking enforcement in the Derbyshire Dales is delivered through Civil Parking Enforcement (CPE) – a partnership between Derbyshire County Council (DCC) and the county’s district and borough councils, including Derbyshire Dales District Council (DDDC). 🔹 Who Enforces What? Derbyshire County Council – On Street Enforcement
DCC is responsible for enforcing on street parking rules, carried out by Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs). These officers replaced traffic wardens.
CEOs enforce:
• Double & single yellow lines
• Limited waiting bays
• On street pay and display
• Residents’ permit zones
• Loading bays
• Blue Badge bays
• Taxi and bus stops
• School keep clear zig zags
• Dropped kerbs (shared police responsibility)
• Car parks with formal orders Derbyshire Dales District Council – Off Street Enforcement
DDDC manages off street (car park) enforcement for its public car parks. 🚔 Police – Criminal & Dangerous Parking
Derbyshire Police retain enforcement of:
• Dangerous parking where no yellow lines exist (bends, brows, junctions)
• Obstruction
• Double white lines
• One way systems
• Access only orders
• Box junctions
