🛴 E‑Scooter Safety Reminder 🛴 |
||
|
We’ve recently seen a noticeable increase in children and parents using e‑scooters across the area. While we understand they can be fun and convenient, it’s important to remember that privately owned e‑scooters cannot legally be used on public roads, pavements, cycle paths, or any other public space.
Using e‑scooters in these areas puts riders, pedestrians, and other road users at risk — especially when children are involved. Please be aware:
⚠️ Privately owned e‑scooters are not legal to ride on public highways. ⚠️ Police have the power to seize e‑scooters being used illegally. ⚠️ Many riders, including young people, are now aware of this and often make off when approached — placing themselves in even greater danger. ⚠️ E‑scooters do not offer the same protection as bicycles or vehicles, increasing the risk of serious injury.
We’re asking parents and guardians to help keep their children safe by ensuring e‑scooters are not used in public spaces.
Our priority is preventing accidents and protecting our community.
Thank you for your cooperation
