Local Crime: Here are the crime updates for the Handsworth Wood area from 17/02/2026 to 17/03/2026 Church Lane – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 6:50pm and 11pm on 17/02/2026, persons unknown caused damage to a Volkswagen Caddy by smashing back passengers window. Offenders gained entry and stole power tools from vehicle. Wheaton Vale – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 7:01am and 11:27am on 18/02/2026, persons unknown approached a secure, parked and unattended Mercedes Sprinter van. Offenders gained entry and stole vehicle by unknown means. Bramley Drive - Interference with a motor vehicle – Between11:30pm on 17/02/2026 and 11am on 18/02/2026, persons unknown approached a secure, parked and unattended Nissan Qashqai. Offenders gained entry to vehicle by unknown means. Once inside vehicle offenders have moved drivers seat and searched the vehicle. Nothing stolen from vehicle. Newcombe Road – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 8pm on 18/02/2026 and 10:18am on 19/02/2026, persons unknown approached a secure, parked and unattended Nissan Juke. Offenders have gained entry and stole vehicle by unknown means. Lloyd Road – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 9pm on 20/02/2026 and 10:18am on 21/02/2026, persons unknown approached a secure, parked and unattended Mercedes 350SE. Offenders gained entry and stole vehicle by unknown means. Hamilton Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 6:55am on 22/02/2026 and 6:41am on 23/02/2026, persons unknown approached an insecure, parked and unattended Toyota Yaris. Female offender stole various items from inside the vehicle. Sandwell Road – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 8pm on 26/02/2026 and 5:30am on 27/02/2026, persons unknown approached a secure, parked and unattended Seat Toledo. Offenders gained access to vehicle by breaking the back passengers side window. Offenders stole iPad, Dash Cam and a parcel bag. Oxhill Road – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 9pm on 01/03/2026 and 5am on 02/03/2026, persons unknown approached a secure, parked and unattended Ford Transit Van. Offenders gained access and stole vehicle by unknown means. West Avenue – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 9:30pm on 01/03/2026 and 3am on 02/03/2026, persons unknown approached a secure, parked and unattended Mitisubishi L200. Offender gained entry to vehicle by prying open rear of vehicle with a crowbar. Property stolen circular saw, angle grinder, jigsaw and three batteries. Raleigh Close – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 10pm on 06/03/2026 and 11am on 07/03/2026, persons unknown approached a secure, parked and unattended Mercedes C220. Offenders have gained entry and stole vehicle by unknown means. Laurel Road – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 12am and 12:52am on 11/03/2026, persons unknown approached a secure, parked and unattended Kia. Offenders have gained entry and stole vehicle by unknown means. Grafton Road – Theft of a motor vehicle – Between 12:15pm and 12:30pm on 21/02/2026 persons unknown approached a parked and unattended mobility scooter. Offenders stole the scooter. Beauchamp Avenue – Theft from a motor vehicle – Between 5:11am and 5:12am on 15/03/2026, persons unknown approached a secure, parked and unattended Audi A3. MEETINGS: Recently there have been a few issues with joint meeting with local councillors. The Handsworth Wood team would like to apologise for this and for any inconvenience caused by lack of Police present.
Councillor Quinnen monthly surgery at Rookery Childrens Centre – Wednesday 25th February 2026 – was cancelled by the councillor not West Midlands Police. This surgery is the councillors monthly surgery which we attend if officers are available on the day. Councillor Quinnen has also cancelled her surgery on 25th March 2026.
Councillor Kooners monthly surgery at Pavilions on Saturday 28th February 2026 – No police present at this meeting was due to a miscommunication regarding dates and shift patterns the side of West Midlands Police and no fault of anyone else.
