Antisocial Behaviour on Oldham Road, Miles Platting |
||
|
Recent reports have highlighted a growing issue along Oldham Road in Miles Platting involving groups of youths throwing rocks and stones at passing vehicles, particularly during peak times. Police have received multiple logs in relation to these incidents, indicating that the problem is ongoing and affecting a number of road users.
This behaviour presents a clear risk to public safety. Objects striking moving vehicles can cause drivers to lose control, potentially leading to collisions that may result in injury to drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. In addition, damage to vehicles can occur, creating further hazards on the road and increasing the likelihood of secondary incidents.
Authorities have identified several individuals believed to be involved, and arrangements are being made for housing officers and ASBAT officers to carry out visits. The intention is to address the issue directly with those concerned and prevent further incidents.
Parents and guardians are being asked to speak with their children and ensure they understand the seriousness of this behaviour and are not involved. Early intervention at home may help prevent escalation and reduce the risk of harm to others.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police and quote log number 2593, dated 18 March 2026. | ||
