Over 400 arrests made in Met focus on drug dealing. |

Dear residents,
Earlier this month, the entirety of the Met participated in a record-breaking week, tackling drug crime and violence within our communities.
The surge of action came as part of County Lines Intensification Week, where police forces across the country join to tackle drug dealing, particularly targeting gangs who smuggle drugs in or across cities.
Across London, the Met’s efforts saw 415 offenders arrested, 85kg of cocaine and heroin, and 72 weapons seized, as well as providing support and safety to many vulnerable adults and young people.
These results highlight the strength of our partnership work and the determination across teams to protect communities, safeguard vulnerable individuals and relentlessly pursue those who exploit them.
Here locally in Wembley, the safer neighbourhood teams have been involved in numerous deployments actively seeking to pursue individuals engaging in drug dealing/smuggling. We have also worked with partners in transport hubs in order to disrupt this activity and safeguard those who would normally be exploited to transport drugs in and out of London. Using precision led data coupled with intel we have deployed officers to various locations in efforts to seize weapons and has resulted in a number of knives amongst other items used to harm our communities, off the streets.
Wembley safer neighbourhood teams hope that this update offers reassurance to our communities that we are demonstrating an unrelenting will to safeguard the community we serve.
Stay safe and kind regards Wembley Safer Neighbourhoods | ||
