On the 18th March 2026, neighbourhood officers PC Hogg and PC Gornisiewicz attended SMS Coaching in Broadgate, Oldham, where they took part in an informal discussion with students. During the visit, both students and teachers asked a range of questions about policing, leading to an open and engaging question‑and‑answer session. The officers spoke about general aspects of their role and students were encouraged to share their own views and experiences of the police, helping to build a better understanding on both sides. The relaxed setting allowed for genuine rapport‑building, with conversations flowing naturally and students feeling comfortable to speak openly.

As a part of this rapport building, PC Hogg played a game of pool against one of the students, which ended, with the student having potted 7 more balls than the officer.

We are looking forward to attending SMS Coaching again in the future and continuing to strengthen our relationship with the students and staff.
