Training exercise to focus on partnership response to disorder |
||
|
A training exercise is due to take place with partners tomorrow (Thursday 19 March) aimed at enhancing our response to public order incidents. The exercise will involve a number of officers and will take place in the Swynnerton area as well as policing posts in the south of the county. Exercise Shieldline will start at 8am on Thursday, and will see a number of people role-play certain aspects of a public order incident, in order to test the emergency service response. A number of firearms officers will be involved, along with police staff in support roles, and a command structure set up at police headquarters in Stafford. Armed policing Chief Inspector, Chris Cotton, said: “We would like to reassure the community that any unusual activity you may see in the Stafford and Stone area on 19 March is likely to be part of this training exercise, which is vital to ensure our readiness to respond to emergency public order call-outs. “I would like to thank local people for their ongoing support and understanding as we carry out this exercise and hope it demonstrates how we are committed to working with partners to deliver the best possible response to protect the public from harm.” To report any concerns or issues you may have in your local community, call us on 101, use Live Chat on our website or call 999 in an emergency. | ||
