On Tuesday 17th March Councillor Richard Cox and I conducted a “walkabout” of Armitage with Handsacre between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. We specifically visited the following location due to several reports regarding a male on a motorbike. The pedestrian cut through between Glebe Road and Waters Edge – safety concerns have been raised due to a male on a motorbike using this short cut. We have been out to the location to see first hand what if any solutions can be considered to improve the safety for pedestrians. It has been noted that there have not been any reports regarding the motorbike for a couple of weeks suggesting that it has improved, this was reflected in the results of the knock on at addresses in Waters Edge on Friday 13th March. If there are any further issues, please ring 101 or complete the online form on Staffs Police Website. Speeding - Lichfield Road and Old Road – Local Neighbourhood Policing team 3 have been out in the area over the past month targeting speeding, uninsured vehicles/no Tax or MOT. Armitage with Handsacre have their own Community Speed watch volunteers who cover various other locations. We are always looking for new volunteers if you would like to know more about the Community speed watch and would like to volunteer please send me an email to :- margaret.griffiths@stafforshire.police.uk During our walkabout we spoke to several residents, no further issues were raised. “Cuppa with a Coppa” Police Drop-in Surgery – If you would like the opportunity to speak with your local PCSO, I will be holding a drop in surgery at Armitage with Handsacre Village Hall, Shropshire Brook Road (NOT at the police post, I will be in the village hall) on Wednesday 25th march from 11am to 1pm. | ||
