Community Update – Seymour Road / Green Lanes

We are aware of ongoing issues involving individuals congregating and consuming alcohol at the junction of Seymour Road and Green Lanes. We understand the concern this causes for local residents and want to reassure you that the matter is being actively addressed.

We will be liaising with the Council to look at joint solutions, and you will see an increase in visible police patrols in the area as we work to deter this behaviour.

Reporting incidents to the police and/or the Council is extremely important. Your reports help us build a clear picture of when and where issues are occurring, allowing us to identify patterns and adjust our patrols so we can be present at the times these individuals are most likely to be encountered.

Crime Prevention Advice – Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)
While there is no specific information suggesting a threat to women or girls, we encourage everyone to take steps that can help enhance personal safety:

Be aware of your surroundings, especially after dark or in quieter areas.

If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts and move to a safer, well‑lit location.

Let someone know your route and expected arrival time when travelling alone.

Report any suspicious behaviour or unwanted attention immediately to police by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency.

Use local businesses or busy public spaces if you feel unsafe—they can provide a safe place while help is contacted.
