Valley SNT – Reassurance Foot Patrol Activity
Summary of Activity
Valley SNT officers conducted proactive foot patrols across several identified ASB hotspot locations within the Valley Ward. These locations have been highlighted through recent reports, community intelligence, and ongoing concerns from residents and businesses.
Hotspot Locations Patrolled
• Chase Lane Park • Mount (Mount Road / surrounding area) • Hall Lane • Hazel Way-Green Area • Old Church Road • Churchill Terrace • Council Car Park – Hall Lane, E4
Purpose of Patrol
• Provide visible police presence to deter ASB • Engage with residents and businesses • Gather intelligence on ongoing concerns • Identify individuals involved in ASB • Assess environmental factors affecting safety
Engagement Activity
Officers engaged with multiple residents and business owners across all hotspot locations, discussing ASB concerns, recent incidents, and suggestions for improving community safety. Community feedback was positive, with several individuals expressing appreciation for increased visibility.
Observations
• No significant ASB witnessed during patrols • A small group of youths spoken to in Chase Lane Park—no offences • Poor lighting noted at the Council Car Park on Hall Lane (E4) • Environmental issues (littering, fly tipping and signs of gatherings) observed in Hazel Way
Next Steps / Actions
• Continue patrols in above hotspot locations • Pass intelligence to relevant teams and partner agencies • Liaise with local council regarding littering and fly tipping with photos and environmental improvements • Maintain regular community engagement to build trust and confidence
Foot Patrols Summary
Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team officers conducted foot patrols across several ASB hotspot locations within the Valley Ward, including Chase Lane Park, the Mount area, Old Church Road, Churchill Terrace, and the Council Car Park on Hall Lane, E4. Officers engaged with residents and business owners to gather feedback, offer reassurance, and address ongoing concerns. No significant ASB incidents were observed during the patrol. A small group of youths were spoken to in Chase Lane Park with no offences noted. Environmental issues such as poor lighting at Hall Lane E4 and signs of gatherings and fly tipping in Hazel Way E4 were identified and will be referred to relevant partner agencies. Continued patrols and community engagement are planned to maintain visibility and support neighbourhood safety.
