Suspicous workmen

Good Afternoon residents, I hope this message finds you well. 

I am sending this message out for your info and if you can assist. 

On 16/03/2026 a concerned resident has called the police to report 2 suspicious and potentially fraudulent workmen.  These have been in the area of Thornhill Close posing as gutter cleaners.  They have turned up at the informants address and asked her is she wanted her gutters cleaning.  The informant has told the males to go away, but they have ignored this and placed their ladders on the front of her house pretended to carry out some work, knocked on the door again and asked for £120.

The informant states that they were forceful when asking and made her hand over £20 stating that they will return for the outstanding £100.  

As of yet the males have not returned to the area. 

Please can I ask you to keep your eyes out for any suspicious work men, posing as gutter cleaners or handymen.  Please can I also ask if they have been to your house please report this to the police.  The best way to do this is either by ringing 101 or filling out a report on the GMP website.
