Positive Action- Section 59 Issued to Driver

On Thursday PCSO Saltmarsh was on foot patrol in Pontyclun and witnessed a vehicle driving at an excessive and careless speed through Brynsadler. Members of the public also approached and explained their concerns at the manner of driving of the vehicle.

PCSO Saltmarsh conducted enquiries on the vehicle and issued the driver a Section 59 Notice.

Section 59 allows officers to seize vehicles used in a manner causing alarm, distress, or annoyance, particularly when used antisocially or in contravention of the Road Traffic Act 1988. 

If the vehicle or driver is sighted again using a vehicle in an antisocial manner, the vehicle will be seized.
