Good evening Resident This week is Retail Crime Awareness Week, we’re working closely with local shops and businesses across the area to highlight the impact that retail crime has on our community — and what we can all do to help reduce it. Retail crime isn’t just about stolen goods. It can involve threats, abuse towards staff, and organised groups targeting multiple stores. These incidents affect livelihoods, increase costs for everyone, and can create real fear for workers just trying to do their jobs. Throughout the week, we’ll be:
Visiting local retailers to offer crime‑prevention advice Supporting staff with reporting methods and safety guidance Increasing visibility in key areas Working with partner agencies to identify repeat offenders and vulnerable businesses
👀 How you can help If you witness shoplifting, anti‑social behaviour in stores, or abuse towards staff, please report it. Information from the public plays a big part in identifying suspects and preventing repeat offending.
Call 999 if a crime is in progress or someone is at risk Report online for non‑urgent matters at kent.police.uk Use 101 if you prefer to speak to us
