Hi Resident, Neighbourhood Watch Network, the national body for Neighbourhood Watch has been in contact with Cheshire Neighbourhood Watch Association (CNWA) to inform us that you have set up a new scheme via the Alert System. My name is Mike, and I am one of the volunteers who support Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators across Cheshire, and I would like to thank you on behalf of the CNWA for taking the time to register your own scheme. So, what happens next? Your scheme needs to be ‘approved’ as per guidelines recently set out by the national Neighbourhood Watch Network. The first step will be for me to contact you via the phone just to discuss any questions you might have, offer support, and discuss whether you require any street signs, leaflets etc to promote your scheme. If you could let me know when are the best day(s) / time(s) to contact you. I’ll text you a convenient time / day to see its suitable before for both of us before I ring. The second step is what is known as ‘Police Approval’. This normally involves a member of the local Cheshire Constabulary beat team contacting you to introduce themselves. This gives you an opportunity to get to know your local police team and to discuss any concerns that you have, or the reasons why you set up a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme.Once the above has been accomplished then the scheme will be approved and show as being ‘live’ on the Neighbourhood Watch website. Additional Information. It is important that all new Coordinators are aware of and willing to comply with the Ethics and Standards for volunteers that are set out by Neighbourhood Watch here. Please familiarise yourself with this requirement, so that we can check that you are comfortable with it when we call. In order to have conformity with the names of schemes I have amended yours to Crewe - Signallers Croft NWS.Our organisation is here to support Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators across Cheshire, and we look forward to helping you to get approved and get started with your scheme. We are a volunteer run association, and we do not keep strict hours but if you would like further support or guidance, please do not hesitate to contact us.You can click on the REPLY button below to reply to this message. The best means of contact otherwise is via email - mailto:cheshirenw@outlook.com Many thanks Mike (Membership Scheme Administrator) |
