We’ve seen a recent increase in Blue Badge thefts from vehicles across the Tottenham Central area. Offenders are targeting parked cars and often smash windows to grab badges quickly.

If you use a Blue Badge, please take a moment to follow the safety advice below to help protect both your vehicle and your badge.

🔒 How to Keep Your Blue Badge Safe

Do not leave it on display when not needed.
When parked in a private car park, on your driveway, or overnight at home, take the badge with you or store it out of sight (for example, in the glove compartment).

Use a lockable protector.
Consider using a metal or hard‑plastic sleeve with a steel cable that locks the badge to the steering wheel. This acts as a visible deterrent and makes theft harder.

Improve car security.
Park in well‑lit, secure areas and consider installing a car alarm or a dash cam with parking mode.

Only display the badge when using disabled parking.
Remove it afterwards and keep it with you.

🚘 General Vehicle Crime Prevention

Always lock your vehicle and check windows are fully closed.

Remove valuables from view, including bags and electronics.

Park in busy, well‑lit places whenever possible.

Report any damage or attempted break‑ins to police.

📞 Report Suspicious Activity

Call 101 if you see something suspicious or need to report a crime that has already happened.

Call 999 in an emergency or if a crime is happening right now.
