Local Priorities Road Safety Issues Concern Update - USE OF ILLEGAL E-BIKES/E-SCOOTERS |
||
|
I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Road Safety Issues, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. As you maybe aware from social media posts and news articles South Wales Police have been conducting operations targeting the use of illegal E-scooters/E-bikes. We are still seeing a large number of these illegal scooters/bikes being used on public roads. We are advising members of the public not to purchase these E-scooters/E-bikes unless they are being used on private land only. If you are seen to be using these types of transport on public roads they will be seized and then disposed of appropriately (crushed). If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.south-wales.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
