Pickpockets and Distraction Theft in Wallington

Good Evening,

Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen an uptick in the amount of “pickpocket" style offences where individuals have been followed from cash points and waiting for an opportune time to take items left in pockets. Equally, we have seen offenders distracting residents before taking goods left on the floor or in open containers/cars.

Please keep reporting these to police if they happen but in the meantime please find the following advice:

Ensure cars are locked when being left even for a moment to speak to someone.

Keep items in zipped bags and/or pockets

If items are to be kept in pockets try to keep them in front of you.

Don't hand over items to strangers.

Remain vigilante at all times!
